Tips to Increase your productivity in remote work

Domingos Salvador - Gestão, Contabiidade & Consultoria leaves some suggestions to improve your productivity in remote work:

1.Relaxed, but professional

Working at home has a positive side: you can adapt the workplace to the more comfortable area of the house, be in more sporty clothes, you don't have to wake up counting on your arrival time at work and you don't catch traffic. However, more comfort cannot mean a loss of professionalism and commitment.
Maintain a routine: set a wake-up time, do your hygiene and dress yourself. Choose a specific room to work in and don't take your meals while you work.

2.Set a work schedule and define your tasks
Clearly, not all works flow in the same way, it only takes one work to be more creative than another, to have to adapt a different schedule than the standard one (9am to 6pm). There are those who produce very well in the schedule from 9am to 6pm, and those who have spikes of creativity from 10pm on. Flexible schedule management is one of the benefits of remote working - but it must always be articulated with your team leaders and your business model.
Start by listing your tasks and prioritize them. Articulate this list with your direct superior, to ensure it lives up to expectations and is not afraid to make this a daily habit. It will only increase the team's productivity.

3.Make sure you're always on call
Being in the office, we know very well that if they need you, they will come to you or call you for meetings. Being at home, that articulation should also be possible - and if you don't answer, you risk being thought you're not working.
Knowing your tasks, you may even be able to finish the job early. However, managing your schedule should be compatible with the work of the whole team. Stay available and in touch during working hours and available to answer any questions that arise.

4.Remember you're on a team
Even being at home, you should try to be aware of the internal communication networks or work platforms adopted by the company in order to know what is happening in the team and in the company.
Knowing that you will be in a remote location, make it easy to articulate with you: publish your agenda in the work tool used, and include, in addition to the tasks, the time you have available to gather. You are working alone at home, but you belong to a team.

5. Enjoy your dead time. And don't be afraid of a controlled pause
Remote work also has a fantastic advantage: all the work that was pending or delayed can be done, since all the day-to-day interruptions of a workplace will be much less
On the other hand, you are at home. If you have to take a 10 minute break because you have a creative block, you can do some necessary activity at home, as long as you always keep communications available.

6.Learn. Go further
Probably, if you are methodical and organized in your tasks there should be a great possibility for dead times. However, these quieter times are an excellent way to get up to date in matters of your profession again. You can do for example: online workshops, online courses, watch a ted talk or even learn a language.
In fact, the biggest advantage of remote working is to allow customization. Of schedules, your work place or even your footwear. Several studies have already been released, which indicate that workers can increase their productivity by up to 13% when doing remote work.
