Answer to the main questions about the PDR2020

The PDR2020 (Rural Development Programme 2014-2020) offers a set of incentives in the context of the agricultural sector.    Today we clarify some of the most common questions associated with this Incentive System:   How to know if you’re compatible to Young Farmers incentives  It is considered Young Farmer if you meet the following conditions:    a) If you are aged over 18 years and less than or equal to 40 years;     b) If this is the first time you are installing on a farm;     c) If, in the case of a company, you’re the managing partner with most of the capital, or share the majority of shares with other managing partners;   d) If you undertake to obtain adequate training;     e) If you undertake to fulfil a business plan and perform a minimum investment in the exploration.      How to know if the farm has a land area acceptable in PDR2020  The approval of projects will depend on the evaluation of their economic and financial viability and the verification of their technical, economic and financial coherence.     Depending on the type of cultivation, the area is a decisive factor to ensure that the previous conditions are met, but there is no rule or minimum values.    The project must be analysed in detail, to ensure that they are complied with all the eligibility criteria, but above all to ensure that the investment is viable.   How to ensure a rapid reimbursement in case of approval of the project  After the project is approved and the contract is signed, you will need to formalize a request for payment.     In this regard, it is very important to control early on all expenses of the project, with the help from your accountant, keeping all the evidence of expenditure incurred.     The payment shall be made only after consideration of all documentation.   i)    In the case of young farmers, there is a premium that will be received well after formalization of a payment application, but without the need for presentation of documents of expenditure;      ii)    It can be formalised a request for payment as an advance on the amount of the investment, not more than 50% of the amount approved, by the formation of bank guarantee, corresponding to 100% of the amount of the advance.    Normally, the payment claims take on average, since submission to its refund, 3 months.
